"Are you sure you're feeling okay? You've been silent throughout the drive."
Haydar glances at me as he pulls up to the house.
"I can take you back if you want."
I look down at the wrapped gift on my lap, twisting the bow with my fingers.
"No, it wouldn't feel right." I try to lighten up since he looks so concerned about me.
"I promised the others I'd be here."
I look away again, staring into the house filled with music and laughter. I couldn't even remember the theme of the party.
