The road was long, the journey bright,
They sought Eid’s joy in Kano’s light.
But fire and hate cut short their prayer,
As hands of wrath dragged them to despair.
Sixteen souls, bound and torn,
Pleading mercy, battered, scorned.
Tyre and petrol, axe and blade,
While cheers rose high where justice swayed. . .
