The Future We Fear

The sun rises slow, but the shadows stay long,

A nation in waiting, where hope feels gone.

The streets hum with whispers, of dreams deferred,

In the land of the brave, where the heart is stirred.

Oh, the future we fear, it lingers near,

In the cracks of the roads, in the weight of the air.

But still, we stand, though the night is unclear,

Searching for light, through the future we fear.
