I am the one they hardly see,

But I carry this country inside of me.

My blood runs green, my dreams are bold,

I do not need a crown of gold.

For I was born where the Niger flows,

Where baobab and cassava grows.

 

I do not serve for praise or fame,

Nigeria is my father’s name.

I rise each day before the. . .
