Equality Before The Law
The law is blind, or so we claim,
But in our courts, it knows every name.
It bows to power, it nods to gold,
And often forgets the poor and bold.
In the books, all men are the same,
But in practice, it’s a different game.
The big man steals and walks with pride,
The petty thief is chained and tried.
